Delray Beach is a city in the southeast corner of Palm Beach County, Florida on the Atlantic seashore. It encompasses slightly over 16 square miles of land area, of which 90% has been developed. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 64,150 and growing. A village by the sea that began as an agricultural community in 1895 has become one of Florida's most popular destinations for visitors, new families and seasonal residents.
